Jukka Ahtela (Master of Laws trained on the bench) will continue as conciliator for a new three-year term starting on 1 April 2021. Ahtela will also continue as Deputy National Conciliator. The Government appointed the conciliator on 18 March 2021.
The National Conciliator’s Office is an independent government agency, which operates in conjunction with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The agency is headed by the National Conciliator. In addition to the National Conciliator, there are also part-time conciliators who can act as mediators in labour disputes as necessary.
