The email addresses of the Finnish Government ministries will change in the course of the second half of 2021. The Ministry of Finance took into use new email addresses with a single ‘gov.fi’ suffix on 20 September.

Financing provided to make digital support a permanent service for citizens and businesses

The Ministry of Finance has granted the Digital and Population Data Services Agency EUR 1.8 million for building an operating model for digital support. A pilot project is to be completed in 2022, and the model is to be later adopted nationwide as a permanent service. The financing was granted from the Programme for the Promotion of Digitalisation. One of the programme objectives is to expand the national operating model to cover digital support to business operators.

The Government recommends that workplaces in areas in the community transmission phase switch to remote work when possible. Recommendation on remote work will be in effect until further notice. The Government issued a government resolution on the matter on 2 December.

The European Commission’s annual Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) monitors the digital performance of EU Member States and tracks their progress in digitalisation. Finland ranked number one in the previous two years, and has been one of the leading countries for several years.
