26.6.2020 | On Friday 26 June, the Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy decided on the principles and conditions for granting state financing and support to large companies facing temporary difficulties due to the coronavirus epidemic. The policy approaches were drawn up based on joint preparations by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Finance as agreed by the Ministerial Committee at the end of May.

4.11.2021 | The fourth supplementary budget proposal for 2021 will reduce the central government’s net borrowing requirement for this year by approximately EUR 2.2 billion. The proposal takes into account changes in needs estimates resulting from the economic upturn and increases in tax revenue estimates. On the whole, the supplementary budget proposal envisages a reduction of approximately EUR 249 million in appropriations for 2021.

28.10.2015 | The OECD Public Governance Ministers' meeting is attended by more than 50 delegations, 30 ministers, and over 200 participants. The ministerial meeting is held every five years. Finland holds the chairmanship of the meeting, with Japan, Germany and the United States serving as vice-chairs. The ministerial meeting is chaired by Minister for Local Government and Public Reforms Anu Vehviläinen. This is the first ministerial level OECD meeting held in Finland. Finland joined the OECD in 1969.

16.4.2018 | The main proposals concern the remuneration of management in listed companies and the right of listed companies to obtain information on shareholders. The proposals relate to Finland’s national transposition of the EU directive covering these matters. The Ministry of Finance circulated its working group’s proposals for consultation on Monday 16 April.
