Timeline of budget preparation for 2021
The preparation of the Budget for 2021 will begin on 11 to 12 August with a budget session at the Ministry of Finance. The government proposal for the 2021 Budget will be published on 5 October.
Timetable for the preparation of the budget proposal:
- Tuesday 11 to Wednesday 12 August: Budget session at the Ministry of Finance
- Thursday 13 August: The Ministry of Finance will submit its proposal to the Ministries and publish it at budjetti.vm.fi (in Finnish)
- Monday 14 to Tuesday 15 September: Government negotiations on the Budget
- Monday 5 October: A debate of the Budget proposal will be held at an extraordinary Ministerial Finance Committee meeting and a government plenary session and the publication at budjetti.vm.fi
