Jarkko Levasma appointed as Government CIO

The Government has appointed Jarkko Levasma, M.Sc. (Tech.) as Government Chief Information Officer at the Ministry of Finance. Levasma is currently Senior Director of the Finnish Tax Administration’s Product Management Unit.

”I’m very excited about the new responsibilities and challenges. I am also very fortunate to be able to rely on the Ministry’s extremely competent staff and the various agencies and the municipalities. Without good cooperation across organisational boundaries it is difficult to achieve anything of wider significance to society,” says Levasma.

In addition to his current post as Senior Director of the Product Management Unit, Levasma has served in a number of other positions at the Finnish Tax Administration, including Senior Director (CDO and CIO) and IT Director. Among his previous positions, Levasma has worked at Tieto Oyj.

The Government made the appointment decision on Wednesday 23 June. Levasma is appointed to the post for a fixed period from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2026.
