The Government has submitted its proposal for the 2025 Budget and related legislative proposals to Parliament. In the 2025 Budget, central government expenditure amounts to EUR 88.8 billion and revenue to EUR 76.6 billion, with a deficit of EUR 12.1 billion.

The Ministry of Finance and European Commission have signed a Memorandum of Understanding according to which the Finnish contract notice materials will be entered into the Public Procurement Data Space of the European Union. The aim is to make it easier to utilise data concerning public procurements both nationally and, more widely, in the EU.

The economy has begun to recover from the recession, and growth will pick up next year. General government finances will, however, remain in deficit and debt will accumulate further, according to the forecast published by the Ministry of Finance on 23 September.

The 2025 budget proposal of Prime Minister Orpo's Government bolsters conditions for economic growth. Economic growth driven by the private sector will also serve to secure the financing base for central government finances.
