The decisions focus on reinforcing the conditions for economic growth and enhancing the security of Finland and the Finnish people. At the same time, the Government will ensure that public finances are sustainable. The growth package will be financed responsibly through measures to increase general government revenue and reduce expenditure.

Public finances are in dire need of a turnaround, as deficits remain deep and the debt ratio is threatening to rise above 90 per cent, according to the forecast published by the Ministry of Finance on 16 June.

26.6.2020 | On Friday 26 June, the Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy decided on the principles and conditions for granting state financing and support to large companies facing temporary difficulties due to the coronavirus epidemic. The policy approaches were drawn up based on joint preparations by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Finance as agreed by the Ministerial Committee at the end of May.

29.1.2024 | The REPowerEU call for applications in the Sustainable Growth Programme for Finland (Recovery and Resilience Plan) has been launched. The call will close on 29 February 2024. Businesses and organisations can apply for financial support for energy investments that promote the clean transition.
